The Garden Route is one of the most beautiful sections of the Western Cape, stretching from Mossel Bay to Storms River. This route is one of South Africa’s most famous road trips.

The route takes you through different regions of the Western Cape from semi-desert in the “Little Karoo” to beautiful lush green flora, fauna, epic coastlines with white sandy beaches and rugged mountain passes.

I love the display of natural beauty that seems to engulf you the further you drive along the route. The area is filled with plenty of activities for young and old and is one of my favourite routes. If you love nature, wildlife, spectacular scenery and want to experience the countryside, then this tour is ideal for you.

Departure: Drive from Cape Town

Pick up from your accommodation at 07h00. Drive from Cape Town along Route 62. Stop at small farmstalls along the route for refreshments. Arrive in Oudshoorn for the Ostrich Tour and lunch (lunch at own cost). Check into Lodge. Dinner at the lodge( at own cost). Overnight at 4-star lodge in Oudtshoorn.

Day 2: Oudshoorn

Early morning Meerkat Tour (optional) return to lodge for breakfast. Depart to Cango Caves. Drive to the Knysna Waterfront for lunch (own cost). Check into B&B. Diner in Wilderness (own cost). Overnight in Wilderness. B&B accommodation.

Day 3: Wilderness

Drive to Plettenberg Bay. Lunch (own cost). Dinner in Plettenberg Bay (own cost). Check into B&B.

Day 4: Plettenberg Bay

Early breakfast, visit Stormsriver Bridge and walk to the suspension bridge in the Tsitsikamma forest. Lunch on route (own cost). An afternoon spent at Monkeyland/ Birds of Eden and Jukani Wildlife Park. Return to B&B. Dinner in Plettenberg Bay (own cost). Overnight in Plettenberg Bay B&B Accommodation

Day 5: Safari and Game Drive

Early breakfast. Depart to Mosselbay. Lunch on route (own cost). Afternoon game drive. Dinner at Lodge (included). Overnight at Game Lodge near Mosselbay.

Day 6: Southern Tip of Africa

Early morning game viewing with Game Ranger and open game vehicle. Depart Game Lodge. Drive down to the most Southern Tip of Africa.Lunch at Hermanus (own cost). Drive back to Cape Town, drop off at 17h00/18h00 at your accommodation.
