West Coast
Driving along Route 27 only 1 hour from Cape Town the landscape is filled with large open spaces, white sandy dunes and in the summer time during August and September, the area is an array of colourful wildflowers boasting all the colours of the rainbow. Small coastal fishing villages dot the horizon, with plenty of nature reserves taking up large areas along the route.
The West Coast is a region with a unique charm and character. It is sparsely populated and offers an experience far removed from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. Originally this region used to be inhabited by the Khoisan or bush people. Take this journey with me and explore a hidden gem just outside of Cape Town.
