Kalk Bay
Not far from Simon’s Town and on the coast road back to Cape Town is the small and quaint fishing village of Kalk Bay. Spelt ‘Kalkbaai’ in Dutch/Afrikaans it translates literally as ‘Lime Bay.’ The village is regarded as a suburb of Greater Cape Town, and geographically it is hemmed in by False Bay on the one side and sharply rising heights on the other. These heights are buttressed by craggy grey Table Mountain sandstone.
