You’ve now done Llandudno, so back into your car and onto the winding, scenic coastal road, still hugging the Atlantic, and follow it all the way to Hout Bay.

This little town gets it’s name from the Afrikaans meaning ‘Wood Bay’, and is situated in a deep, picturesque valley. Although you are in another world entirely, you are unbelievably just 20 kms from the heart of Cape Town! Incidentally, the name Hout Bay can refer not just to the town, but to the Bay itself or indeed to the entire valley.
